Why Grad School?

Main Objectives:

— Critique: I want to be able to talk about my work more effectively and learn more about my art practice through critique, exploration, and new experiences.

— Conceptual value: less aesthetic and more explanation. Even if it’s ridiculous, I want to be able to discuss who, what, where, why, and how.

— Teaching: specifically at PSU, I’ve been given the opportunity to gain a great deal of teaching experience. This is something I’m passionate about and want to do in the near future. 

Important goals (personal reminders):

— Don’t be serious just because I’m in grad school. Just be myself and be serious about working hard and thinking hard.

— Eliminate categories. Less about the medium and more about the “why”

— Make piles of work to figure out what I want to say. 

Above all, If you can’t make it, then fake it by over explaining it!
